Marek Dyzewski
completed piano studies at the Music Academy in Wroclaw. He also
studied history of art a t the Wroclaw University, Lublin Catholic
University and Vienna University.
As an essayist he expresses himself in writing as
well as on the radio and television. Collaborating with the 2-nd and
3-rd
Polish Radio Programmes he created radio works of art, which were
awarded a number of prizes for their novice form and outstanding
artistic merit. His works („Stabat Mater” and „In the Shape of
Snowflakes”) have twice represented the Polish radiophony on the
worldwide forum of radio art. „Prix Italia”. He was a TV commentator of
the greatest musical events taking place in our country including the
H. Wieniawski International Violin Competition, G. Fitelberg
International Conducting Competitions, the „Wratislavia Cantans”
Festivals.
He is an author of poetic translations of lyrics
from Latin, French, German, Spanish and Intalian). Mediaeval liturgic
drama Ludus Danielis in his adaptation was played by the Great
Theatre in Warsaw – on the stage of this Theatre and on numerous
European stages.
He was the founder and manager of Days of Old
Masters’ Music festival in Wroclaw (1967-1987). He has been a guest
lecturer at all Polish music institutions as well as in the foreign
centres. From 1990 to 1994 he was the rector of Wroclaw Music Academy,
which owes its new site, enrichment of instrumentarium and
developing international contacts to him.
