"Molecule” - Interactive video installation in collaboration with Wolfgang Spahn (www.wolfgang-spahn.de)  and Dave Lawrence (www.sponde.co.uk),

"there is nothing apart from atoms and empty space: the rest is an opinion"` Democratis

Our knowledge of the  world is based on an atom. We learn about it entering the school, we experiment with it looking into the future. We know that atoms are born in nuclear reactions of stars and they bind into molecules which then constitute our atmosphere, oceans and organic matter that we belong to. These "extremely minute particles" are constantly interacting with each other thus making everything that exists inter-dependent and part of much larger ecosystem.

It is based on 3D interactive model of an atomic structure of a protein. The public can explore it moving white balls (representing atoms) scattered in the room. This form however is never seen from the outside, as a whole, giving the participants a feeling of being a part of some bigger overwhelming structure.

This restless arrangement of atoms is combined with ever-changing sequences of videoanimations referring to basic elements and state of matter. The piece creates a dynamic and contemplative landscape, a kind of atomic puzzle, underlining the fundamental homogeneity, instability and interdependence of components of our world. The interactive aspect of the installation enhances the experience of the space as a dynamic and complex system of inter-relations.
