Our choir was founded in 1986. Initiated by several people in the
Cultural Section of Warsaw Club
of Catholic Intelligentsia (KIK). Initially
there were 31 members of the choir. The first conductor was Marcel
Klimczak, at that time a student of the last year of musicology at
Academy of Catholic Theology in Warsaw. The rehearsals took place
at the sw. Wojciech parish at Wolska street.

The first appearance of the choir at the Holy Mass starting
the general meeting of members of Club.

Two concerts in Cracow: the first one at Christian Culture
Days in "Arka" (Nowa Huta), the Second in the
Holy Virgin Mary Church
- The name ARS CANTATA was created.
- The first appearance in the Review of Church Choirs Caecilianum

| 1989 |

We became an autonomous section of KIK. and members of Polish
Union of Choirs and Orchestras (PZChiO).
- In October we started with new conductor - Marcel Klimczak,
who moved to US was replaced by Marcin Stopczyk
- a student of Music Academy in Warsaw
- Carol concert in KIK.
It was an extraordinary ceremony - the honour guest was the
Prime Minister of Poland
Tadeusz Mazowiecki. In the meeting there was as well a French
TV team, that 2 days later appeared on the rehearsal
and filmed us for prepared film document about
Poland.

- Change of the rehearsal place - we moved to
the parish of st. Jacob at Narutowicza square.

New conductor - Krzysztof Kusiel-Moroz, graduate of Academy
of Music in Warsaw
- At the camp in Rozdziele (Beskid Wyspowy) - our choir
was taken over by the pupil of Krzysztof - Malgosia
Banasinska, the student of last year of Academy of Music
- The performances during review of Jozef Furmanik, Polish
composer who lived in XIX/XX centuries; and during
yearly meeting of choirs in st. John cathedral
- The performance during the Holy Mass at the Okecie Airport.
The mass was delivered by the Reverend Primate
Jozef Glemp and the Reverend bishop Slawoj Leszek Glodz.
It was filmed by the Warsaw Regional TV.

We took part in the fifth Carol meeting in Saska Kepa
- 10th anniversary of choir performance
- We took part in 9th Polish Festival of Sacral Music
in Rumia near Gdansk
- The series of concerts in Lithuania in Wilno. It was
the first international trip of the whole choir.

- Elzbieta Siczek became the new conductor - she was a graduate
of the Academy of Music in Warsaw.

We took part in the 8th festival of Carols in Myslenice
- We were singing at the meeting of KIK members
with the Reverend Primate Jozef Glemp
- Singing at the Holy Mass delivered by the Pope Jan Paul
the II.
- Together with the ARS
ANTIQUA choir we performed twice
at the 75th anniversary of PZChiO.

- In December we were in Prague, where we won Silver
Band at 10th International Festival of Advent
and Christmas Music

- In April 2001 the choir
participated in the 4th Podlasie Festival of Sacred Song "Lapskie
Te Deum". We were awarded the prize for distinguished
performance style
- May - the concert in the course of a conference entitled "Creator
and Providence - Beginning and Lasting" ("Stwórca
i Opatrznosc - Poczatek i Trwanie") organized by the
Club of Catholic Intelligentsia
(KIK) and the Ministry
Department
of the Metropolitan Curia, Porczynski Gallery, Warsaw
- At the middle of November we removed the word "academic" from
the name of our choir.

- In January we sang the Christmas Carols concert
organized to celebrate the 15th anniversary of
our choir.
- In February we sang during the ceremony of decoration
of the heart of Frederick Chopin on his 192nd anniversary.
- In March we were singing at the concert "Na Górze
Oliwnej" organized by PZChiO.
- In June we were singing at the concert "Spotkania
z muzyka dawna" ("Meetings with Old-time Music")
organized by PZChiO.
- In September we took part in the first edition
of the Warsaw Gospel Days organised by the PZChiO.
- October - we gave a concert at Porczynski Gallery
on the occasion of the conference organized by
KIK and the
Catholic Foundation to celebrate the Pope's Days
2002.
- On the 14th Stanislaw Orminski International
Festival of Religious Music in Rumia we were awarded
the honourable mention by
the jury and special
prize of the President of the City of Sopot.
- In November we participated in the 5th "Cantio
Lodziensis" Choral Festival in Lódz
where we were awarded the 2nd prize in the category of academic
choirs.

In January, during the radio transmission "Secrets and
Hard Facts" on the air of Polish Radio 1 you
could hear "Miserere" by
A. Lotti taken from our recording.
- During XIIIth Festival of Carols in Myslenice
we won the 3rd prize in "chamber choirs" category.
- In April we took part in concert "Choral Music Interpretations" organized
by Conducting Faculty of Warsaw Academy of Music.
- In May on XXXVth "Legnica Cantat" choir
tournament we won the 1st prize in "other chamber choirs" category.
- 2s of June we sang during the Holy Mass, main part of the
official celebration of 25th anniversary of The Holy Father's John Paul
II first
pilgrimage
to Poland.
- 24th of July we sang during the Holy Mass opening the
International
PAX ROMANA Conference entitled "Poverty
and Injustice as challenge to morality and cultures"
- 12th of December 2004, 16.00 o'clock - concert of Advent
songs, Church of St. Andrzej Bobola, Rakowiecka Street, Warsaw
- 19th of December 2004, 16.00 o'clock - vocal contribution
to the mass for the Club of
Catholic Intelligentsia, Holy Spirit Church, Dluga Street,
Warsaw
